The Dolphins will lose Joey Porter for the whole pre season and he is doubtful for week #1 after undergoing knee surgery yesterday.  Porter played in 14 games last season for the Steelers and he made 55 tackles, had 7 sacks, 2 interceptions (1 returned for a TD) and he defensed 3 passes.  Donnie Spragan will replace Porter until he returns to the field of play.  Spragan played in all 16 games last season for the Dolphins and he made 50 tackles, had 1.5 sacks, forced 1 fumble and recovered 1 fumble.

Daunte Culpepper almost done for season

It looks as if Culpepper will miss the rest of the season with his knee still bothering him.  Signing Culpepper instead of Drew Brees was a gigantic mistake that was made by the Dolphins.  Culpepper finished the season completing 81 of 134 passes (60.4%) for 929 yards with 2 TDs and 3 INTs.  Culpepper was sacked 21 times this season.  He also ran the ball 10 times for 20 yards (2.0 ypc) and a TD.
