Dallas Cowboys 37, Miami Dolphins 20
It’s starting to look like the Dolphins are going to have a very long season. For the second week in a row they could not stop the run or run the football on offense which resulted in the Dolphins only having possession of the football for 24:57 of the game and it’s hard to win that way. Also when you factor in that veteran QB Trent Green kept throwing the ball to the Cowboys the Dolphins really had no chance to win this football game. Green completed 23 of 40 passes for 287 yards with 2 TDs and 4 INTs. RB Ronnie Brown had another poor week as he carried the football 11 times for 33 yards (3.0 ypc). He also caught 2 passes for 36 yards. Jesse Chatman looked better running the ball then Brown did as he carried the rock 3 times for 27 yards (9.0 ypc) and he also caught 4 passes for 15 yards. Chris Chambers led the way in the receiving corps for the Dolphins with 9 catches for 109 yards (12.1 avg). Marty Booker (4 rec, 79 yards, TD) and Derek Hagan (2 rec, 33 yards, TD) also pitched in. The Dolphins finished with 61 yards rushing on 21 carries (2.9 ypc) and they also completed 23 of 40 passes for 273 yards.
Linebackers Zach Thomas (10 tackles) and Channing Crowder (8 tackles) were busy but the Dolphins defense couldn’t make any big plays to get off of the field. The Cowboys rushed for 166 yards on 36 carries (4.6 ypc) and they completed 14 of 29 passes for 186 yards.
