Cameron Worrell was a back up for the Chicago Bears last season but he was always around the ball making big plays.  He played in all 16 games last season and he made 21 tackles, had 1 sack, forced a fumbles and recovered 3 fumbles.  Look for Worrell to play on all of the special teams and to contribute on defense for the Dolphins in 2007.

The Dolphins have signed kicker Jay Feely to a 3 year, $6 million dollar contract.  He made 23 of 27 field goals (85.2%) for the New York Giants last season.  He also nailed all 38 of his extra points.   Look for the Dolphins to finally get rid of the non-clutch Olindo Mare.

The Dolphins sign WR Kelly Campbell

Kelly Campbell didn’t play in the NFL last season.  He’s been a guy that can really stretch the field with his speed.  He has played in 37 NFL games and he’s caught 57 passes for 1,062 yards (18.6 avg) with 8 TD grabs.  He also has carried the football 14 times for 86 yards (6.1 ypc).  Look for him to be a decent #4 or #5 WR for the Dolphins if he makes the team.

The Dolphins make a big splash and sign linebacker Joey Porter

The Miami Dolphins have signed OLB Joey Porter to a 5 year, $32 million dollar contract.  Last season Porter played in 14 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers and he made 55 tackles, had 7 sacks, 2 interceptions (one returned for a TD) and defensed 3 passes.  This move will make the Dolphins defense even better than it was last season and that’s a scary thought.  It will be hard to double team Jason Taylor now with Porter on the other side.  Opposing QBs should consider using the shotgun against the Fins this season.

The Dolphins release TE Randy McMichael

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Big Dolfans News, General by dawgpounded on Tuesday 6 March 2007 at 12:34 pm

The Dolphins have released their starting TE Randy McMichael.  He was cut for salary cap reasons as well as his off the field conduct.  He started all 16 games for the Dolphins last season and he caught 62 passes for 640 yards (10.3 avg) with 3 TD grabs.  He played in 80 games in his Dolphins career (all starts) and he caught 283 passes for 3,096 yards (10.9 avg) with 18 TD grabs.  David Martin has been signed to take McMichael’s spot in the starting line up.

The Dolphins also made it official and released QB Joey Harrington.
